You went into this field because you wanted to help people.
You knew it would be hard—but maybe you didn’t expect just how much you’d carry. The grief, the pressure, the unrelenting pace. The people you’ve lost. The heartbreaking stories you’ve heard. The long hours, the back-to-back appointments or crisis, the imposter syndrome, the fear of making a mistake, the exhaustion you can’t seem to shake.
Maybe you’ve even wondered if you’re still cut out for this work… or if you're slowly losing pieces of yourself trying to keep going.
We see you. We were some of you.
We’re Katarina Astrup, MSPAS, PA-C and Kristen Chuba, MSPAS, PA-C, certified PAs practicing in psychiatry, and we specialize in helping burned-out healthcare professionals and first responders heal.
Providers Who Understand the Cost of Caring
Together, we’ve spent over a decade as PAs, with the last several years focused on outpatient psychiatry. And we’ve walked through burnout ourselves—especially during the COVID pandemic, when it felt like we were giving everything to show up to the clinic day after day while barely holding ourselves together.
So when we see fellow PAs or MDs, DOs, NPs, nurses, therapists, EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, police officers, etc., there’s a deep and unspoken understanding. We know what it's like to be the one holding space for everyone else—and to feel like there's little left for ourselves.
But we also know this: you don’t have to live this way forever.

Compassionate Psychiatric Care—That Treats the Whole You
We work virtually through Minnesota Clinic for Health and Wellness in New Brighton, MN, where we offer psychiatric medication management for adults. While we’re trained in traditional psychiatry, our approach is whole-person and deeply human.
We treat:
- Burnout and chronic stress
- Depression and anxiety
- PTSD and trauma
- Grief and life transitions
- Insomnia and sleep disruption
- OCD, ADHD, and bipolar disorder
- And more
We also take time to explore the foundations of your well-being—like rest, movement, nourishment, and stress—because true healing often goes beyond the prescription; it’s about creating sustainable change together.

You Don’t Need to Figure This Out Alone
We’re not here to hand you a generic self-care checklist or tell you to take a weekend off and everything will be fine. (Even though we’re advocates of self-care and using your PTO!)
And we’re definitely not handing out pizza for being a Healthcare Hero. (You deserve more than lukewarm gratitude and cold pepperoni.)
We’re here to walk with you through the hard stuff. To hold space for the weight you’ve been carrying. To help you reconnect with yourself—not just as a professional, but as a human.
And yes, that may include medication. But it also includes empathy, encouragement, and hope.
You're not broken. You're burned out—and that can change.
