
Sara Ericson, Ph.D
Sara is a pre-licensed therapist who works primarily with adolescents and adults.
APPROACH
Sara’s approach to therapy begins with building a genuine, supportive, and collaborative relationship with
clients. She views mental health from a holistic perspective and considers the bidirectional influences of
mental and physical health when conceptualizing and working with client issues. Sara pulls from
client-centered, insight-oriented, and cognitive behavioral approaches depending on what is the best fit
for the individual client. In addition to these approaches, she enjoys collaborating with clients to develop
specialized pathways to wellness.
CLINICAL INTERESTS
Sara has significant experience and interest in working with a wide range of presenting concerns including
but not limited to identity development, anxiety, depression, life transitions, adjustment to physical health
challenges, relationship issues, existential concerns, and parenting difficulties.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Sara has a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and a PhD in psychology from the University of
Maryland College Park and is currently completing post-degree clinical hours under supervision.
PERSONAL
Sara spends her free time with her family and friends, taking advantage of the outdoors on any warm days
Minnesota provides, knitting, reading, and drinking tea while watching tv after her children are in bed.
