Justine Gaston, MSW, LICSW

APPROACH

Justine approaches therapy through a relational lens. She believes that a core part of the therapeutic process goes beyond the modalities that she has learned, and instead on how an individual is treated. She hopes to provide a safe, supportive, and understanding environment for the individuals she sees, and in doing so, they can then show up as they are. She believes every person has the ability to recognize ways they have shifted through experiences they have been through; and with these shifts, finding what best suits who they would like to be today.

CLINICAL INTERESTS

Justine specializes in working with adolescents and young adults (age 13 through 40) navigating anxiety, questioning of sexual orientation, and trauma; including individuals that have experienced domestic violence, sexual abuse, or assault. Additional interests include stress-related issues and life transitions. She is a wife to a first responder and hopes her space can also be a place for spouses that are in this position and know the impact this can bring to them, their relationships, and the home.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Justine earned her Master’s of Social Work Degree at The College of St. Scholastica. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science, with a Criminal Justice Concentration, from The University of Wisconsin-Superior. Justine is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). Justine is also an NASW-MN Certified Supervisor.

PERSONAL

Outside of therapy, Justine enjoys road trips with her wife (coffee included), hiking, and finding new activities to engage in (most recently quilting). She is hoping the recent move to the area will bring forth new activities to engage in.
